As an accomplished CEO with more than twenty-seven years of combined utility, human resources and executive experience, Diane Johnson has an extensive background in the utility industry.  She served as CEO for Yampa Valley Electric Association, Waverly Utilities and executive at Colorado Springs Utilities.  Her technical expertise is complimented by her many years of work in the HR and workforce strategy arena.  Prior to her leadership in the utility industry, Diane also worked in manufacturing and healthcare.

Her combination of experience and skills is unique, with strong hands-on and exec HR expertise grounded by many years as a CEO overseeing utility organizations, leading energy portfolio management & generation, distribution, customer service, pricing, operations, renewable energy, marketing and strategy efforts.

Diane is passionate about being a change catalyst with companies and people who want to define and achieve excellence.  These days, she is “energized” by working side by side with people on collaborative, professional projects where clients and colleagues are challenged and supported to accomplish a common goal.   She maintains an active consultancy with work that includes utility and HR advisor, interim executive and leadership coach.   Diane specializes in not-for-profit companies including cooperatives and municipal utilities.

She holds a degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Colorado.  She’s been a member of the Rocky Mountain Electric League (RMEL) Board of Directors, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) CEO Advisory Council, the American Public Power Association (APPA) Board of Directors and the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women local Board.  Her active roles in Rotary, United Way and, now, the Ogden Rescue Mission’s Seager Memorial Clinic, which provides healthcare to low and no-income patients, reflect how she lives and works:  “doing something that matters ~ matters!”
